Sandy Belock-Phippen lives on the North Shore of Boston. Her education included a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, Awarded the European Honors Program in Rome, work and independent study at Brown University, Residency at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and most recently independent study at Fondazione Il Bisonte, Florence, Italy. She has work in a number of public and private collections, here and abroad. Her work encompasses a variety of mediums and subject matter including portraiture, landscape, and interiors, usually distinguished by the fluid handling of the medium and luminosity of color. “ I strive for an immediacy and spontaneity in my work and yet a sense of timelessness that transcends contemporary fashions.”
