Adriana G. Prat is an academically-trained scientist turned abstract artist. She has been passionate about the environment since her childhood days in Argentina, when her father educated her to value nature that provides us with food and beauty. This influenced her curiosity that led to life choices, including her decision to become a scientist and a vegetarian. After moving to the US, a more introspective lifestyle motivated Adriana to embrace another childhood passion: art. A residency in Iceland moved her to communicate through her artwork her concerns about how we treat the world. Adriana's quest is about finding a way to live a more sustainable life to halt climate change, through her work and even the work of other artists, via her curatorial activities. Adriana has exhibited at open studios, galleries, alternative spaces, and museums, in Argentina, and the US, mostly in the greater Boston area, and, more recently, in galleries in Reykjavík, Iceland, and London, UK. She works at her Cambridge studio and welcomes visitors to a shared studio space: #213 in the 450 Harrison Avenue building.

Adriana works on alternative painting supports such as corrugated cardboard and repurposed canvases and creates non-representational surfaces evocative of imaginary topographies that bring to mind the cells of organisms or maps, even our planet as a whole, in its constant struggle to survive; morphing and mutating under the endless pressure of human-induced exploitation and environmental change.
