Mark Peterson has been taking, printing, and displaying determinedly urban photographs since 2004. Many are set in Boston and surrounding areas. He is particularly interested in the irony of an elegantly composed picture of a banal site.
Peterson has recently exhibited at Claire Carino Contemporary in Boston, The Nave Gallery in Somerville, Tufts University Art Gallery, the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown, and the Thos. Moser showroom in Boston. He prints his own work and also prints for other photographers and creates giclee prints for other artists.
Represented in Boston by Claire Carino Contemporary, 460 Harrison Ave. More photos can be seen online at www.siteandsituation.com and in person at Claire Carino Contemporary and at Studio 229, 450 Harrison Avenue, Boston. Studio is open for SoWa First Fridays, summer Sundays, and by appointment via email.
