Memories of being in the natural world inspire the color and gesture of the paintings. Gardens, open space, the sea and wind are all a source from which the paintings evolve. Color and light are important elements. I find them exciting. It fascinates me how one color next to another comes alive and that color has the profound ability to evoke a mood or a place. Although these places may feel familiar, they are not intended to depict real places. It is within this abstraction of nature, that i want to leave room for the imagination to roam and to find it’s own meaning.
