Suzanne Merritt: Discover Flow-tography, the contemplative approach to photography. Have you ever experienced a moment when time stood still, there was an intensity and clarity outside of ordinary experience? And in that moment did you see something that made you stop in your tracks and catch your breath? And then, were you amazed to realize it was just a blade of grass, or peeling paint? You were in the zone, or what is know as the Flow State. There is a special quality to the images we create in the zone. We know it when we see it because we feel a deeper connection to life. We feel more awake and alive if only for an instant.

Flow-tography is a healing art that reduces stress and enhances wellbeing. By deepening visual awareness and appreciation of beauty you can take a break from fear and worry. Focus on what you see and discover how to just be.

Over the past 25 years Suzanne has developed some simple but effective practices that will help you enter this state by choice rather than by chance and to create images that express the essence of this experience while you are in it. Sounds impossible? Join us for a workshop to discover how easy it really is. It is all about seeing how extraordinary, ordinary things can be…. when we are being mindful. Suzanne not only creates her own images this way, but also can teach you to do the same.

The Flow-tography Contemplative method can be used when engaging in any genre, travel, landscape, macro, nature, street photography and more. This is because it is all about seeing creatively, challenging assumptions and being open to finding beauty in your own backyard.
