I am attracted to rhythms of color and line, to the seemingly chaotic, and to things hidden or layered. I work with oil sticks and oil pastel on paper, oil and acrylic on canvas, and collage and found object assemblages. My current series of collages is focused on small connections between disparate images and objects. I use primarily newspaper photos that have been cut up to hide or disguise the original subject to form new, often kaleidoscopic images, abstract but clearly drawn from the real world. These suggest, to me, an attempt to find coherence in the multiple and varied stimuli we absorb daily.
